What's so funny?
- I read some 175 or more comics a day. Each day, I post a strip or two here that made me laugh, made me think or impressed me with its artistry. It's my hope that you'll see some new strips here and decide to follow that artist's work, and perhaps even to support that work by purchasing a collection of strips. But, mostly, I hope you'll find this a place to get a laugh or share a thought each day. After all, comic strips are a very demanding art form, but the ultimate point of all that work and all those deadlines is to give readers a little pleasure each day. Really, everything in the item posted would pass except the use of Oprah. By including his own koala artwork, he's just confusing things.

The jet ski pic, Jesus pic and the space pic could also be copyrighted, though the space pic is probably NASA and thus public domain -- assuming it wasn't cropped, colored or otherwise altered by someone in between who could then claim it.
Not sure that pissing off Oprah wouldn't be sufficient, anyway, although, if you really wanted to score the cease-and-desist trifecta, you'd have Mickey Mouse and the Cat in the Hat waving a set of Olympic rings.
But Oprah would probably do.
Monsanto is probably looking for a way to trademark "oatmeal," but I don't think they've succeeded yet.

(Another thought -- he's actually CLARIFYING it by including his own work, because his point is that SOPA goes after more than the commercially motivated pirates that the movie and music industries claim they want targeted. If you, for instance, posted a video of your wedding and it included your sister singing "You Light Up My Life," that could be considered piracy, unless you had paid for use of the song in the video. Yes, even her off-key cover version would be a violation. And that's where the barbecued kittens come in.)
