Jim Meddick's Monty is exploring one of the great rural activities, cow tipping. Cow tipping is a lot more exciting than snipe hunting, but sometimes the snipes hide under the sleeping cows as they stand in the fields and then you can combine the two activities, and that's fun, too, as long as you watch out for rabid jackalopes.
The nice thing about Monty is that it is so relentlessly foolish that this cartoon is not at all out of the ordinary flow of things. A rare example of a strip that began kind of lame and gradually morphed into a strip that provides fairly consistent laughs. The opposite arc is a lot more common.
Shoulda waited until Thursday.. that one's even better! :)

Any readers who saw Wednesday's post and then failed to see Thursday's strip are absolutely on their own. Good lord, I can't spoonfeed them forever!
