Hi Mr.Petterson,
This is Lauren. Will Raymond live or die? Are you going to make a movie on Hooch? Are you going to make a book about Hooch? When Kenney is sitting in the waiting room I think he is thinking about if Raymond will live or die because he is in the hospital and they dont know if he will make it.

Hi this is Christian and thank you for skyping with me.I think Kenny is thinking about how did Raymond get shot or, how stupid he was to work for the bootleggers. I wonder if this serial story is non-fiction? What bootlegger shot Raymond? I think Kenny will stop working for Eddie because his uncle Raymond get shot by the bootlegger.I predict all his family will go back to France. I wonder how old does Raymond fought for the war?

Hello Mr.Peterson this is Jade thank you for skyping with me! I think that while Kenny was in he waiting room he was telling himself that he regretts going to the party, because if he haden't gone then the party would have been post poned because there was nobody to run the party. Then there would not have been any bootlegers that were drunk to be out to shoot Raymond while he was working.
Some questions i have for you are, why would it take some time until Uncle Raymond? I also was wondering if Uncle Raymond will live, and will he be alright? Will Raymond change in any way, or will he be disabled in some way? Did the state police catch the person or people that shot? I predict that Kenny will tell Uncle Raymond that he was at the party and shouldn't have been.

Hello my name is Calie and I think that Kenny is saying why wasnt I there to help Raymond when he needed me because if I was there I could of helped Raymond and maybe if I was with Raymond, Raymond wouldn't of got shot. Also I want to thank you for skyping with us!!!! I also have some questions for you:Why did Raymond go after the bootleggers because I dont think it was Raymond buisness? 2:Why do only one bootlegger stop and shot Raymond?I predict that kenny will go and find the bootlegger because what they did to Raymond!!!!

Hi Mr.Peterson my name is Grace. I wonder if Raymond will ever get better?I think Kenny is saying to himself on the floor is I was with bootleggers the other night.Kenny is also thinking about Raymond. What will Kenny do next?I predict Kenny will never go to a nother boot legger party again. I think Kenny will become acustums offiecer.I enjoyed skyping with you.

Hello Mr. Peterson! I really enjoyed our Skype! Our class still has questions though...
Here are mine;
Did Eddie shoot Raymond?
Why did Kenny say "What difference does it make?"
Why was Raymond shot and why?
What will happen to Raymond?
What will Kenny do next?
I think Kenny will stay at home with Raymond if he is still alive, and blame George for most of the problem. If Raymond dies Kenny will change completly, but Kenny will be smart enough to not to go with George again.
I think Kenny is saying "I wish I never went to the party." to himself because people are getting drunk at the party. Some people were so drunk they threw over $100 in a fire place!!!
So far my favorite chapter is chapter 3. I liked this chapter because Kenny tries to explain that George is a bootlegger without giving it away!
Could we Skype again? I hope we can!

Hi, my name is Shannen!I enjoyed skyping with you. I wonder if Eddie shot Raymond or one of Eddie's friends shot Raymond.I wonder if Kenney is the oldest kid in the family.I think Kenny is saying to himself as he sits on the waiting room floor thinking about things is why was he hanging with bootleggers and not with his Uncle Raymond. I predict that Kenny is going to tell on Uncle George for helping him with Hooch.

From Mrs. Dermady's Class-Karissa (Hooch)
When Kenny was sitting in the waiting room I think he was saying please don't be dead Raymond.
Some questions I have for you are...
Will you ever continue this story of Hooch?
Why does George think that it is Eddie that would have shot Raymond? What did Eddie do wrong?
I wonder if Raymond will recover from his accedent?
I noticed that in the story Dennis did not come home from France. How come?
THANK YOU MR.PETERSON FOR SKYPING WITH US!!!!!

Hi Mr. Peterson my name is Aaron. I think Kenny is saying "Why did Raymond have to get shot instead of somebody else" when he sat on the waiting room floor thinking about things. I wonder why people have to wait to get better when they have medicine to help them. What was the trap? What is a turnpike? I predict that Kenny will not hang out with Eddie anymore. Thank you for Skyping with me.

Dear Mr. Peterson,
Hello!!! My name is Sara. Thank you for Skyping with my class.I think Kenny was saying "Why?" while he sits on the waiting room floor thinking about things. I think Kenny is saying "Why" because first, he was at a party where there were bootleggers, then, when Kenny returned home from the party, he found out that Raymond had been shot. How does George know that Eddie didn't shoot Raymond because Eddie left the party before George and Kenny. I predict that Kenny will tell his family that he went to a bootlegger's party with George and give his family the the money to pay for Raymond's doctor bill.
From,
Sara

Hi Mr.Peterson my name is Jakob. I think when Kenny was on the waiting floor he was thinking about if Uncle Raymond was going to live or die. I wonder why the customs officers had a trap in Chazy for the bootleggers? I wonder why Kenny said "What difference does that make?"
I predict Kenny will tell the truth about he was working at a bootlegger party with George. Thanks for Skyping with us.

Hi Mr.Petterson,
It's Lauren. Will Raymond live or die? Are you going to make a book on Hooch? Are you going to make a movie on Hooch? I think Kenny thinks Raymond will die or live. I think Kenny will go in to the room and talk to Raymond. Thank you sooooooooo much for Skyping with us!!!

Hi, my name is Kellen, thanks for Skyping with me. I am going to answer the in your own words. I think Kenny was thinking that he was working for bootleggers and the bootleggers shot my uncle.
I think Kenny is not going to work at another bootlegger party.
I wonder why you can't sit with Raymond in the room he is in?
I wonder if Raymond will live or die?

HI my name is Noah and thank you for Skyping with us. I think Kenny is thinking obout how stupid he was to like bootleggers when one shot his Raymmond. I predict Kenny will give the mony back to the bootleggers. I wonder if the graze was very deep. I am looking forward to when Raymmond is better!
Posted by: Noah | 03/23/2011 at 12:07 PM
Hi my name is Hunter. I have a few questions for you. I predict that Raymond will be strong like they said in the hospital. I think that kenny is saying to himself why now. I wonder why the bootlegger's wanted to shot him? I wonder if Kenny is going to stop hanging out with the bootleger's and help out catching the bootlegger's or be a custom officer like Raymond. Thank you for skyping with us.
Posted by: Hunter | 03/23/2011 at 12:14 PM
As usual, a lot of the questions are "Wait and see!" questions, but we're running out of time to find things out, aren't we?
So here's my question, and it's Kenny's question: What difference does it make who shot Raymond? He was shot by bootleggers. Bootleggers are criminals, and Raymond is a customs officer, which is a type of policeman. So, when George says that at least they know it wasn't Eddie (because they were with Eddie when it happened), Kenny says, "What difference does that make?"
Think back to Chapter Three, when Raymond talked about laws. He said that law matters, that you should obey the law, even if you don't agree with it. And he said that, just because people say "nobody likes that law," that doesn't mean much, because, if most people didn't want it, it wouldn't be a law.
Someone asked why they set a trap near Chazy. There was a place there where there was one big bend in the road and then another one going another way, so cars had to slow down. That made it a really good place to stop cars so you could search them, and the customs officers often waited there for bootleggers.
Most of the time, there was no violence. But bootleggers were criminals, and sometimes there was shooting. That's the way police work is today, and that's how it was back then.
A couple of you thought maybe Kenny could have helped Raymond, but I don't know very many police officers who take their kids to work with them, and I don't think Raymond would have, either!
